The show is a coming-of-age story that celebrates the magic of childhood and the power of imagination. My Neighbour Totoro follows two sisters - Satsuki and Mei - who have just moved to the countryside. Their mother is recovering in a rural hospital and their father decided to move closer so the whole family could be together more easily.
The young girls start to explore their new house and surroundings and meet Totoro, the guardian of the forest. The two sisters then embark on an enchanting journey filled with magical creatures.
